'RJ' CRASHES TO THE TOP.

RJCrash aka RJ Coats a Computer Technician from Arkadelphia, AR
celebrates turning 50 on Sept. 17 by grabbing top spot this week.

He's overachieving. His best year in 12 seasons was a +14 showing in 2004.

Major error to report in the scoring database that that I didn't catch until today.
For the past 4 weeks Mommabee was credited with someone else's score.

The correction isn't pretty so I credited her with 3 wins for the bonus picks
she wasn't initially eligible for this week. Sorry, Ryan!

This week Bonus Game picks were available ONLY TO POOLERS -8 and UNDER.

Check your score! Questions or comments, e-mail Auggie.

Gordon Blickstead was born and raised in the Irish immigrant neighborhood of Griffintown in Montreal, Quebec. He was the proud son of Charles, the city's Fire Chief.

As a 20-something bon-vivant, he began crooning jazz standards in smokey Montreal nightclubs under the name 'Sonny Columbo.' An impressive crooner, Sonny outshone Tony Bennett when they appeared on a 1957 CBC-TV special.

In the early 60's, Gordon retired his 'Sonny' persona for the practical job of teacher at Resurrection School in Montreal where he coached a 2nd string football team of varsity squad rejects to a winning record.

After a sabbatical on the beaches of Florida, Gordon began a career in radio during which he and colleague 'Auggie' began a close friendship until Gordon's death from cancer in August 2002.

Gordon most enjoyed a cold beer, a warm barstool and the Football Pool.

Despite his brief coaching success he was no more saavy at making picks than the rest of us. But, he'd no doubt get a bigger kick out of knowing that Sonny Columbo lives on through our Pool award!

Cheers, old friend.
